INSAF (Indian Social Action Forum) was established in 1993, when the social action groups and people’s movements were struggling to cope up with the changing realities of globalization & religious fundamentalism in the country. With time, it has grown into a national forum with a political thrust, bringing together over 500 social action groups, people’s movements and progressive intellectuals to resist globalization, combat communalism and defend democracy.

DeepRoot is powered by people and their passion towards a singular vision:

We are actively promoting Free Software economics and ethics, standing by, investing and helping the Linux community as an active part by doing our bit for the cause, developing business relationships so that we can help customers develop and deploy gnu/Linux-based infrastructure and technology.

The Free Software Foundation Of India is a non-profit organisation committed to advocating, promoting and propagating the use and development of swatantra software in India. Our goal is to ensure the long term adoption of free software, and aim for the day when all software will be free (swatantra). This includes educating people about software freedom and convincing them that it is the freedom that matters. We regard non-free proprietary software as a problem to be solved, not as a solution to any problem.

"building support for South Asian and diaspora writing"

DesiLit was initially created in the summer of 2004 by a group of writers and readers, growing out of discussions at a SAPAC meeting in Chicago. The Chicago members were primarily interested in putting on a literary festival in the city, bringing South Asian and diaspora readers and writers together. The Chicago group is currently also considering adding a regular reading group.

The South Asian Progressive Action Collective (SAPAC) developed out of a common desire for a forum to take up progressive issues pertinent to South Asia and the Diaspora through direct action, creative expression, and discussion.
