| // Date // 21st November,
2002 : A long delayed update. I want to apologize about the magazine,
it just didn't work out. The competitions were supposed to fund the magazine,
but there were not enough entries for them. Also I couldn't dedicate more
time to it, for more elaborate marketing, as I had to work. I hope to revive
it after some time, when I have resources as well as clout to get it working.
Sorry, if i got someone dreaming of a good thing coming and then crushed
them. |

| What Now? I realized
that neither the audience nor the writers in India are identifiable merely
through the internet. SO what I am planning now are events on the ground.
For sometime in February or end January, I and my friends in Ahmedabad are
planning a street show of poetry. We have access to a tractor, and we will
be forming a small group of a few guitarists, a mouth-organist, and as many
poets who are interested and we will be traversing the roads of Ahmedabad.
Wherever we see a crowd of people from a mixed socio-economical strata we
will be parking the tractor and performing our poems. The poems and poets
invited for this event will be from all the relevant languages- in Ahmedabad,
Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu and English- and from as wide a thematic range as
possible. Everyone who is interested can send his or her poems along with
a translation if necessary to
. There are no submission guidelines, anything will do, as long as we like
it. You might prefer to send your Hindi and Gujarati Poems be post. Direct
them to Prayas Abhinav, House no. 315, IIM campus, Ahmedabad-380015,
Gujarat. |

I hope this effort fares better than my
previous one. It has more logic relevant to India in it. We have to go
to the audience, if the audience is not interested in coming to us. We
have to prevent poetry from going extinct from the Indian Culture. And
also poets.
